Asbestos Products Still on the Market

The dangers associated with exposure to asbestos are no longer being debated. In spite of that, the US has still failed to enact a full ban on asbestos. Because of their failure, many products that US citizens are exposed to can still contain trace amounts of asbestos, such as chalkboards, pipes, heating ducts, and even some types of flooring tiles. One conclusion of these studies was that these workers had a greatly increased risk of lung cancer. Can you think of another possible reason that might explain such findings and how this could be verified or disproved?

These films were instrumental to marketing asbestos and generating acceptance by the public. Since the early 1900s, asbestos was known to cause illness and disease in workers who handled the material. Even second-hand contact with asbestos can result in a cancer known as mesothelioma. Due to foreknowledge of the danger and not telling their workers, many corporations have since gone bankrupt from paying out billions in court settlement claims against them.
